Food We Take Determines Our Character

June 18, 2009 · Posted in Childrens Health · Comment

When you take your food next time, take care of the food what you are taking. Because the food you take determines your character. Not able to believe this. But it is true.

Although many other reasons determine the character of a man, food becomes an important part in determining the character of everybody.

Mind controls one’s action, and speech. Decision making ability is the important functions of a mind.

Decision making ability is depending upon the food we take.

Vegetarian food enhances intelligence. Even though the non-vegetarian food contains some energy vital for the human body, the same energy is available more in the vegetarian foods also.

The direction you are sitting to take food is also important. Facing eastern direction will be good.

Whether the mood of the person who is serving the food or preparing the food will affect your health. Yes, definitely.

When the person who serve you food or cook the food is in a happy mood naturally it will reflect in the food he is preparing.

Not only that when we take that food it will digest easily and we can also enjoy the real deliciousness of the food.

If the person cooks or serves with angry, decease, depressed mind, lust, hatred, then even the nutritious containing in the food become useless to us and cause more problems like indigestion, etc

I can explain it with one real example. There is one famous Hindu shrine in India.

There are thousands of cows belonging to the shrine. They gush milk and it is utilized for the purpose of temple rituals.

The temple authorities found sudden spurt in the gushing of milk from the cows. Then they find the reason after some difficulty that it was because of the audio system near the shelters where the cows are housed.

It is the routine of the temple authorities to broadcast devotional songs at specific intervals. They found that when a particular song is broadcasted the cows are gushing much milk than normal gushing.

So the power of music through the senses, increase the gushing of milk.

Another real incident is the soldiers in an army unit were used to give fresh and condensed milk every day for the better maintenance of health and for their better fighting capability.

But the story of gushing milk from the cows in the camp is very interesting. Before gushing the milk from the cows, the young calf will be released free.

By that time the dog in the camp will also be released. On seeing the dog, the calf began to run out of fear. Unable to tolerate the sufferings of the calf, which is chasing by the dog, the cow as a “mother” become in an angry mood.

The milk gushing by that time from the cow that was in an angry mood contains more nutritious which is essential for the fighting capability to the soldiers.

At least now we believe that the mood of the person who serve us, indirectly affecting us, if the food is prepared and served in a wrong mood.

Types of ADD Manifestation in Children

June 11, 2009 · Posted in Childrens Health · Comment

Attention Deficit Disorder wears many faces among children. While the hyperactive, rebellious boys are easy to spot, there are also several other types of children that suffer from ADD that go undiagnosed because of their less conspicuous behavior. Girls often fall into this category.

Some girls are referred to as the “tomboy” type. Preferring more physical activities, they often exhibit some of the key characteristics of ADD, without the defiant behavior of their male counterparts. For this reason, parents and teachers will usually assume the child is not academically inclined and unorganized, but never consider ADD to be a possibility.

Another often undiagnosed group of ADD children are the “chatty” girls. This type is a combination of inattentiveness and hyperactivity and is typically exhibited as being extremely social. More hyper-talkative than hyperactive, these girls have a very difficult time keeping quiet even after being disciplined for talking. They will also tend to jump around a lot when telling stories and organizing their thoughts.

“Daydreamers” are another category often overlooked as having ADD. These girls are usually very quiet and do not draw attention to themselves. However, their extreme inattentiveness is a standard ADD trait. They may exhibit depression and anxiety about school projects, but are not able to stay on task to complete assignments. These are probably one of the most difficult children to diagnose, as teachers and parents do not usually notice the behavior as being a problem and assume the child is simply lazy.

Interestingly enough, there are also a lot of “gifted” girls with ADD. High IQ levels may make it easier to cope with inattention and impulsiveness, but as a child ages, their shortcomings often emerge. It must be remembered that ADD is not a learning disability, and sufferers do not inherently perform poorly in school. They may be able to mask their disorder well into middle or high school, where it them makes itself apparent as work becomes more difficult and assignments become more pressing.

Attention Deficit Disorder can cause many problems when it goes undiagnosed. It will often be assumed children are lazy, unintelligent, and unorganized, when in actuality, they suffer from this disorder. They will often grow up with poor self-esteem and think themselves quitters, or even worse, think they are stupid because of the problems they have. It is important to notice these traits and treat them accordingly to prevent any long term consequences of the disorder.

June 10, 2009 · Posted in Childrens Health · Comment

  • 64.5% of Americans are currently overweight or obese. The rate of increase in obesity is twice as high for children as for adults.
  • In the United States, obesity now contributes more to chronic illness and health care costs than does smoking. In fact, 7% of all health care expenditures can be attributed to obesity.
  • One fourth of all vegetables eaten in the United States are French fries.
  • Even if you are a parent committed to healthy eating for your child, they will eventually go to playgroups, birthday parties, school where they will see billboards, watch TV, go to movies, and travel the supermarket aisles where their favorite Disney or Public TV characters are linked with sugared cereals, yogurt, snack foods, and ice cream. You face Goliath.
  • They have recently had to change the name of Adult Onset Diabetes to Type 2 Diabetes because so many children are getting the disease these days. In fact, today’s obese children who develop Type 2 Diabetes may need coronary bypass surgery before they are 30 years old.
  • Ronald McDonald can be found in every McDonald’s market in the world. He speaks over 25 languages and is the second most recognized figure to children in the worldjust under Santa Claus.
  • 10-15% of all calories consumed by America’s teenage girls currently come from soft drinks.
  • In the 1980’s we began encouraging snackingrelatively unheard of before this decade. We even invented brands like Snack wells, Snack Healthy, etc.
  • We have became a culture that embraces “bigness”.we drive SUVs, have big 4 bedroom homes, drink big gulps, eat big macs, etc.
  • Restaurants, airlines, and movie theaters have made their seats larger to accommodate our increased girth. Even clothing sizes are larger today than they were 30 years ago.
  • It’s not just the fast food and soft drink industry. Massive agribusiness companies have tremendous lobbying power over our government. They often put their business interests over public health. These giant corporations influence what crops the government subsidizes, which commodities are shipped to schools for the National Lunch program, whether soft drinks are sold in schools, even which foods are emphasized in the food pyramid.
  • We attack and recognize big industry in this country such as the massive oil industry, the large tobacco companieswhat about the giant food industry?
  • We are a country that values prevention programs for children. You see this on warning labels for toys that pose a choking hazard, car seats, immunizations programs…yet, we know that food preferences, even brand loyalties are formed early in childhood and we do little to prevent childhood obesity?
